Million Dollar Bride

Chapter 120: She... was almost crazy

Chapter 120: She... was almost crazy

The next morning, Ella woke up, and she felt her body aching. She couldn't imagine how she felt, it could be said that her spine and waist were sore and cramped. The whole body ached unbearably, someone was still fast asleep.

Ella stared at the man next to her, the more she looked at it, the angrier she got, she bit his hand, and suddenly an arm appeared behind her waist, pulling her to his chest.

"Don't make a fuss, last night was too tiring, I don't need it now. Next time will continue." When the words ended, David hugged Ella and kissed her on the lips, continuing to sleep.

Ella blushed. She twisted her body to want to be far away from him, the result was a steady hand holding her waist, and a hoarse voice rang out, making Ella, in a rage, also dare not move.

"If you are still moving, I will continue now."

Those words made Ella's heart tremble. But in the end, she dared not move.

The sun was high, and Ella had a hard time getting out of bed. She and David went down to the living room to say hello to Grandpa and Mom and Dad. Greeting the adults, and finally listening to Mr. Harry finished speaking, Ella looked at her mother-in-law's smile, she dragged David, carrying a thick red envelope, back to their own home.

Mrs. Emma doesn't force Ella to stay at Villa Anthony, just comes home to visit her on weekends.

Ella feels blessed to have such a wonderful mother-in-law. Mrs. Emma is trying to make up for her daughter-in-law.

"Can you come to visit someone with me?" David asked while driving.

"Who?" Ella asked.

"Maria."

Ella was silent for a moment, then nodded. Either way, she felt troubled about this.

The car stopped in front of the police station, Ella said. "You go in alone, I'll wait in the car. Maria hates me so if she sees me, she'll probably go crazy." While at the abandoned house, Ella saw how panicked Maria was when the police arrested her.

"OK," David said and got out of the car. He went inside the police station.

David and Maria sat facing each other.

David looked at his childhood woman. Maria has changed a lot. Her hair was disheveled, she looked thin, and pale, and had dark circles around her eyes.

"What are you doing here?" She asked coldly.

"I came to visit you. How are you?" David replied.

"I'm in prison and there's no freedom. What do you think?" Maria sneered.

"Maria, I've advised you so many times but you still don't listen to me," David said. "But I will still visit you every month."

"I do not need." Maria rolled her eyes at David. "If you want me to feel better, then marry me. I love you so much, I would do anything for you."

"Maria, this is impossible." David objected. "Why do you continue to be stubborn, why don't you give up? Love can't be forced. I'm so sorry that I can't fulfill your wish. I hope we can be good friends ."

Maria scoffed. "Then, don't show your face in here." She shouted. And then she laughed. "I'll still love David anyway and he's always by my side."

David frowned. "What are you saying?"

Maria did not respond to David. She just smiled, looking at a fixed point, as if she hadn't noticed him. And then her expression slowly turned sad.

David looked at Maria. Why is she acting so strange? She treats him coldly when he arrives, she gets angry at him, then she suddenly becomes agitated and tells him that he is always by her side. And now, she became sad.

What's wrong with Maria?

David talks to Officer Vic before he leaves.

"I think she needs to see a psychiatrist." Officer Vic said. "There are times when she cries for no reason and then she laughs right away. Sometimes she even tells herself something that no one understands. And there are times when she is silent. "

David was taken aback. Is Maria mentally ill?

"She has to see a psychiatrist to make sure her illness is real or if she's faking it. If the results prove Maria is mentally ill, we'll transfer her to a hospital for people with mental illness." Officer Vic explained.

David was dismayed. He feels guilty in this matter. Maria became fierce because she loved him and now she has gone mad.

David went back to his car. Seeing him open the door to sit in, Ella asked. "How is she? How is she?"

David sighed. "Her health is unstable. She's... almost insane."

Ella was stunned. She didn't think Maria would be affected so badly. "It's my fault, isn't it?"

"No." David held her hand. "Don't blame yourself. It's because she's too stubborn."

After examining the doctor, the doctor diagnosed Maria as really mentally ill. Officer Vic transferred her to a hospital for the mentally ill.

One day, David and Ella went to the hospital to visit her. When they arrived, they found Maria sitting on a bench in the garden, beside her was an elderly woman. It was Maria's mother.

David and Ella walked toward Maria. They both greeted her mother and sat down on the bench next to her.

"Auntie, is her illness still not getting better?" David asked Maria's mother.

She shook her head. "Maria says your name every day and just sits there dumbfounded."

"Mom, where is David? Why doesn't he come to visit me? Why doesn't he marry me?" Maria said with a puppy face.

David put his hand on Maria's shoulder. "I'm David, do you recognize me?"

Maria looked at David for a brief moment then she panicked, she sat close to her mother. "No, you're not David. He's already left me. He's not coming back."

David felt pain when he saw Maria's current appearance. He said while looking at her mother. "I'm sorry. I made her like that."

Maria's mother shook her head, smiling sadly. "It's not your fault. I've also tried to advise Maria many times, but she still won't listen. She's self-destructive. So there's no need for you two to feel guilty."

"Maria. Don't worry, I'll come back to visit you sometime. So you better get well soon." David said to Maria.

Maria didn't respond as if she didn't hear anything. She just sat there in a daze.

"I hope the next time I visit you, you can talk to me like before." David tilted his head to look at Maria.

"Maria I've always loved you like Rika. It's just, you love so blindly, that there's no right-wrong, black-and-white." David took a deep breath.

"I hope one day you'll realize that I'm still here, just like your brother. Even though our relationship isn't husband and wife, we're still family."

David stared at Maria, but she didn't respond, she just stared straight ahead. She didn't respond as if she didn't mind that someone was talking to her.

David felt helpless, he sat there for a while before leaving with Ella.

As David drove out of the hospital, he heard Ella speak. "I feel bad for Maria. I want to bring her home, and take care of her."

"Do you think so?"

"Yes."

"But she can get sick at any time. For the time being, let her stay in a mental hospital, and wait for her health to get better. Don't worry, Maria still has her mother."

Ella nodded and looked out the window. She thinks that love makes one happy and also makes one suffer when it is unrequited love. She is lucky to have David's love but Maria is not. So she sympathizes with Maria.
