Chapter 69 He Needs to be Punished

Edward's POV

Ever since Caliana came into my life, things changed, she was a part of me. She was a light in the darkness, she lit the path for me even when I was too blind to see sometimes, she made me a better man and Alpha. Now all I wanted was to be worthy of her. Caliana was right about Jane Anne, finally speaking about it out loud made me feel light like a heavy weight has been lifted off my chest and I could breathe again. All the anger and hurt I felt was gone along with that picture. I was a happy and free man and it was all thanks to my innocent, strong, lovely mate, Caliana Meyers.

"Thank you," I told her, her chocolate eyes lit up in surprise as she asked, " For what?"

"For coming when you did and for not leaving even when I was being a .." My words trailed, searching for the appropriate word.

"Arrogant, prick, rude, cruel, etc," She named until I stopped her by connecting my lips to hers.

"Yes, all that,"

"You're welcome and I couldn't leave even if I wanted to really,"

I knew what she meant by that, we bought her like property and I didn't like that at all.

"Speaking of that. I have something for you,"

"Hmm?" She raised her eyebrows. I put her on my back and ran to the manor, we were there in three minutes. I put her down and she wobbled almost falling to the ground but I caught her.

She took a breath and shook her head. When she was alright, she glared at me

"Don't do that again," She gritted her teeth, angry. She looked too cute.

I grabbed her hand and took her upstairs to my home office. I opened the safe and took out some files,

"This was supposed to be your birthday present but all well,"

Her breath shuddered when she recognized my gift and she took them with trembling fingers, a tear rolled down her cheeks and she stared up at me,

"You... I don't understand, these are legal papers to my father's pack and it says here that it is mine now, how?" Her voice was shaking.

"I got it back from your brother, it said nothing in the records about him being your father's heir, Vince only took it because you were too young and when you turned eighteen, he was supposed to give it back but he didn't,"

The documents showed that she was the Alpha of that pack, and at any time she could reclaim it but since no one was there to guide her as Evelyn bought the legal team off, she had no counsel and they took it from her.

"What about Evelyn and Vince?"

"They are still in the pack, they were supposed to leave but Evelyn was on her knees begging for me to let them stay, and believe it or not, I did,"

I don't know why after what they did to my mate but I guess her kind nature was rubbing off on me.

"However, they have stepped down now and the pack is under us,"

"More like a branch of the Golden Stone?" She asked. Caliana was an intelligent woman and had a great love for her pack. I often wondered why she let them sell her without a fight or maybe she thought it was the only way to save her pack.

"How did they give you this? I was told father didn't make any and automatically, Vince will have it since my father legally adopted him and changed his last name to Meyers?"

"The head council always has the main papers so I called in a favor or two," I told her, if only she knew the unbearable discussion I went through, I even went on a date with a woman. It was so fucking dreadful but it was worth it when Caliana looked at me with a smile and so much affection in her eyes.

"Thank you for this,"

"You're welcome,"

I sat in my chair and peered at her " So, Alpha, what do you want to do?" I asked she put the paper on my desk.

"I don't know," She sighed, taking the chair in front of me.

"We shall formally introduce you as the Alpha there and be more involved, as for your pack company, we are making plans with my team to take it back to its glorious days, your stepbrother messed up things, and sold most assets," I informed her.

"He needs to be punished," She groaned.

"You can do as you please now, you're the true Alpha,"

"What's the plan for the company?"

"Your father was greatly into agriculture, I was thinking of bringing it back on a full and higher scale because the company has all the types of machinery, and workers are experienced in that department. Most of the farms grow seasonal fruits and wheat, both are in high demand and I can find companies to supply to," I explained further about my ideas to her and she brings on good ones of her own. I believe in less than a year and with hard work, we can get the pack to flourish as before.

"I remember growing up in that pack, it was beautiful and so green, full of life but when my dad died, things just went sour along with the economy because of greedy members," She said sadly.

"It will be alright, the pack is doing okay but it can be better,"

Caliana gave me back the papers for safekeeping and decided to give me a present of her own. She straddled me and rode me like a horse, every time I'm inside she felt better. I love her moans and the way she bites her bottom lip to try to stop them but to no avail. Fuck, she had me and I wanted her all to myself, she increased her pace and I knew she was close, her claws extended, digging into my flesh when she reached her orgasm as I did too. She was panting and buried her face in the croak of my neck. I gave her sweet kisses and if she didn't get off me, I would go again.

I kissed her hand as she got off me and I saw her blush.

"Shall we prepare for dinner?" She asked, straightening her clothes. I nodded and grabbed her hand before leaving the den. We showered together, it was a habit now of which I will never let go.

Getting ready for dinner, we were joined by my brothers in the dining room. The atmosphere was calm and joyous, I can't remember the last time it felt this way, my gaze traveled to my mate who was quite busy with my daughter, their bond meant so much to me and I appreciated how much Caliana loves my daughter. Love is happier that she had her.
