Chapter 501: Pawning The Diamond Necklace
Chapter 501: Pawning The Diamond Necklace
Noticing her silence, Lucas raised his chin. He felt proud. In his eyes, love could never beat money.
He even scolded himself for thinking she was a problem. Money could fix anything.
“Dave made a risky deal with other companies. If he loses, Phoenix Alliance Group will fall. Without the Evans family, he’s just an ordinary man. He can’t give you the life you want. But with a billion dollars, you can have anything,” Lucas said firmly, laying out his trap.
Just when Lucas felt sure she’d say yes, Bianca let out a quiet laugh. It caught him off guard.
“And what kind of life do you think I want?” she asked, and a spark of amusement appeared in her eyes.
Lucas’s proud look faded. For the first time, he looked unsure.
Bianca stood up from the couch, her presence strong as she looked down at the proud old man sitting below her.
A small smile stayed on her face.
“Did you know Dave once gave me a red diamond necklace worth a billion?” Bianca said. “When we broke up, I gave it back. I’ve already held that kind of wealth in my hands. But I don’t take what isn’t mine.”
With that, she turned toward the door. Her steps were slow, and each one showed she had made her choice. She stopped, looked over her shoulder, and said, “You’ll never understand the kind of life Dave and I want.”
Lucas was taken aback. His proud expression was shaken the moment he heard Bianca's words.
His hand gripped his cane tight, knuckles turning white.
“If a billion’s not enough, I’ll give you two!” he called out, his voice loud but laced with panic.
Bianca didn’t respond. She turned away and kept walking without looking back.
“Three billion!” Lucas said in a sharp tone filled with anger.
She didn’t stop.
“Five billion!” he yelled, his tone now wild with desperation.
But Bianca didn’t flinch. Her choice was clear, and nothing could shake it.
“How much would it take for you to leave Dave?” Lucas shouted, standing up in a burst of anger. He gripped his cane so hard, it shook under the pressure. He struggled to stay calm.
Bianca turned and looked him in the eye.
“You can’t put a price on what we have,” she said. “Trying to do that just shows how narrow-minded you are.”
With that, she walked away slowly. The air in the room stayed heavy. She never looked back again.
Lucas dropped onto the couch. His eyes were wide, lost in confusion.
“How can this be?” he whispered. “How can love matter more than money?”
He couldn’t understand it. His whole life had been about chasing power and status.
He married only to climb the social ladder. To him, his wife was just a way to penetrate high society.
He had no limits. He destroyed the Geller family without a second thought and took over their company to grow his own power.
Even in his own home, he stayed cold and calculated.
He allowed fights between his children, thinking only the strongest deserved to lead the Evans family.
To him, love was useless. All that ever mattered was protecting the family name, no matter the cost.
Bianca’s answer hit him hard. It tore down everything he believed in.
He couldn’t understand how she could walk away from money and power so easily.
Maybe she planned to ask Dave for help. Or maybe she had her own way of dealing with things.
He thought she must be trying to join the Evans family. Why else would she turn him down?
Maybe she had bigger plans. Maybe even five billion wasn’t enough for her.
As Lucas thought it over, a new plan formed in his mind.
A slight smile appeared on his face. He was intrigued. Figuring Bianca out had become a challenge.
She was good at hiding her true motives, but he was set on exposing them.
He had no plans of backing down.

Bianca called for a taxi.
While riding, she mumbled to herself, “That was five billion. I actually said no.”
She had turned down Lucas instantly. But now, a small part of her started to feel unsure.
Still, she knew she would make the same choice if it happened again.
She let out a soft sigh and said, “I guess I’m just not meant to get rich quick.”
But how was she supposed to pay such a huge penalty?
The court ruled that the evidence Reece faked looked completely real, so she lost the case. Trying to appeal didn’t seem worth it, not with how expensive it would be.
The more she thought about it, the more bitter she felt toward Reece.
Then she remembered the red diamond necklace Dave had given her.
She had tried to give it back, but he refused and he even threw it away.
After digging through the bushes for a long time, she finally found it. The necklace wasn’t just worth a billion—it meant something. It was a reminder of their love.
When Bianca got home, she took the red diamond necklace out of a box in her cabinet.
It still sparkled brightly.
She put it on and looked at herself in the mirror again and again. It was just as stunning as she remembered.
She was hesitant to let it go.
But she didn’t see any other choice.
Her plan was to pawn the necklace and buy it back later when she had enough money.
It meant something to her and Dave. She could never really sell it. This was only temporary. One day, she’d get it back.
As the head of Emerald Artists Agency, it was her job to handle the mess they were in.
She knew it was her fault. Her bad decisions had brought them here.
So, she had to face the consequences.
She took off the necklace and held it gently. After a long pause, she left her apartment with a clear decision in mind.
Prosper Pawnshop was the biggest in Edenfield. Its shiny, platinum decor made it look rich and fancy. They only took expensive things. Regular items didn’t even make it past the door.
Bianca walked in, feeling nervous and sad. Then, she headed to the front desk.
“Hi, I want to pawn something,” she said softly.
The salesperson looked up and gave Bianca a sharp glance. Her plain outfit made it hard to believe she had anything valuable.
“What do you want to pawn?”
“A necklace.”
