Contract Marriage; Fated Love

Chapter 117

Chapter 117

Noah was seated in his office when his phone rang. He picked it up and saw that it was his father.

“What? Dad? How can you say that? You choose to believe her over me?” Noah asked in surprise.

“You can't dismiss her now that the project is almost over simply because you failed and slept with her. It was a consensual act and you are both adults. How can you say she forced herself on you?”

“Dad, that girl spiked my drink and took that picture just to ruin my marriage with Emily. This was the reason I refused to work with her in the beginning. I'm taking a legal action against her.”

“Grace is here with me and she has told me everything. You let your guard down and shamelessly engaged in extra marital affairs. Now, you want to aportion blames and send her out of the team now that the work is almost completed?”

“I've already sent her out. I'll explain the reason to the team in the next meeting and we will meet in court!”

“You will do no such thing. Don't tarnish our reputation. Accept the fact that you had extra marital affairs. I'll make sure no law firm in this country takes up the case. She'll resume tomorrow!”

“Dad, why are you so quick to take her side?” Noah asked in pain. But he heard a beep sound and the line went dead.

Noah stared at his phone, unable to believe that his father hung up on him because of Grace. Why was that girl so quick witted? She had already gone to his father and tabled the issue, probably presenting herself to be a saint!

“That bloody bastard!” He yelled and knocked down the files on his table. He heard a knock on the door and grunted a ‘go away' at the visitor. But whoever it was wasn't buying that. The knock came again and the visitor opened the door and let herself in without his permission. Noah raised his head to shout at the intruder but the anger in his heart vanished when he saw his sister.

“Brother? Is there a problem?” she asked in a voice laden with concern. She heard him scroll when she knocked and she could see his red eyes, brewing fire at the moment. His fists were also cletched and the things that were supposed to be on the table were littered on the floor.

“Did you throw them down?” She stood at a spot and looked around the office. Noah took short and calculated breaths to calm himself. He didn't want his sister to know anything that happened.

“Ermmm. It's the…it's the wind. I'll pick them up.”

Gu Yanxi looked at him again and she was sure it was a lie. Her brother seldom stuttered.

“The wind? How did the wind get in here and offset only the things on your table?” she asked, deliberately putting him in a difficult position. Noah, seeing that his lie didn't go well and that he has been caught sighed and said,

“It's nothing. I'll get the table arranged again. Have a seat.”

Gu Yanxi took a seat, her eyes never leaving her brother for a second. Noah picked up everything on his table and forced a relaxed look to appear on his face.

“Noah? Is there a problem? You don't look alright.”

“No. I'm fine, okay. Forget about my facial expression. It's fine. I'm surprised that you came to see me at the office.”

“Yeah. I checked home and I didn't see you. I met only your wife and she said you are at the office. So, here I am.”

“Ohkay. It's fine. So, why did you check for me at home?”

“First of all, have you seen your wife's latest designs?”

“No. What about it?”

“What? Brother, you mean you haven't seen those wonderful designs when you both live under the same roof? You should feed your eyes with those amazing designs!” Gu Yanxi praised.

“I saw the last one. I don't know she has drafted new designs. I'll see it later.”

“You need to. And I came here to give you this,” Gu Yanxi smiled and took out a beautifully designed envelope from her bag.

“And what's that?”

“See for yourself, brother!”

“Hmmm. You are making me curious,” Noah said and took the envelope. He looked at his sister again before he carefully tore open the envelope and took out a card. With his eyes fixated on her, he opened it and scanned through.

“Congratulations. The date has already been fixed. You kept me in the dark, Nelly.”

“Yes, it's a surprise and I'm glad it worked well. I'm going to be a Mrs very soon! Mrs Valentino! I'm super excited.”

“Take it easy. Don't rub it on our faces,” he teased.

“Rub it on your faces? I should be saying that. You both will no longer play lovey dovey before my eyes and make me jealous. I've got my own man now. I gave Emily hers and she asked me to give you a card too.”

“Yes, and that's because she will never deliver the message to me,” Noah said in his heart.

“Make sure you come for the wedding with your wife and son. I'll have a special seat for my sweet friend, Emily. I even plan to get her to design my wedding dress. By the time I create a content on my page with the beautiful wedding dress, everyone will be running to get an outfit from her. She's super amazing, right?”

“Very. I'm proud of her,” Noah admitted. He has been very supportive of Emily's business since he learnt about it and he even opened a company for her.

“Brother, please, get ready for my wedding. I'll be expecting a gift on that day and I know what you can do,” Gu Yanxi said, a broad smile plastered on her face.

“You don't have to worry. It will be taken care of. I'll have everything sorted out. You can count on me,” Noah promised.
