Lycan King's Long-Lost Luna

Chapter 68

Chapter 68

Araceli POV

On Monday, I took my two kids to the daycare.

I watched the two kids go in before I drove to Creaty's office.

I parked the car in the parking lot and took the elevator upstairs. As soon as I got out of the elevator, I saw a group of people gathered in the hallway in front of the office.

The crowd surrounded the hallway.

Even the employees of the company next door came out.

Just as I was wondering, a man in his 40s or 50s suddenly rushed toward me in the crowd.

"It's you! You killed my son!"

The middle-aged man suddenly rushed toward me and grabbed me by the collar.

He raised his hand up high and tried to slap me hard in the face.

I frowned slightly and raised my hand, grabbing the middle-aged man's wrist and pressing it against his back. With my other hand, I grabbed his other wrist and pinned him against the wall.

"Who are you?"

My voice was cold, and there was hostility in my eyes.

Both wrists of the middle-aged man were pinned behind his back by me. He couldn't move, so he broke down and cried out, "It's all you! You killed my son! You instigated my son to murder that girl. After that, you were afraid that my son would turn you in, so you had someone kill him! You bitch! I will kill you!"

The middle-aged man howled and shuddered.

The people around me kept talking.

"I heard about this car accident case. A man hit a kid with his car and ran away. He died the next day."

"Is that man his son?"

"I saw on the news that the police investigation said that the crash was premeditated."

"Really? Is it possible that Ms. Chancey ordered him to do it?"

"Holy shit, how could Ms. Chancey instigate someone to cause a car accident?"

I didn't know what happened, but at the moment I heard the people around me talking about it, I instantly understood.

I didn't follow up the news of Essel's car accident.

I always thought that this incident was simply a hit-and-run. I didn't think that there was a conspiracy in the middle...

My face turned cold, and I asked, word for word, "Why did you decide that I instigated your son?"

"Why?" The middle-aged man said angrily, "You went to my son the day before the accident. I have seen you! I saw you just once, but I can't possibly forget your face! You're the one who killed my son! There will be no one else but you! I won't let you go even if my son is dead! I will kill you!"

The middle-aged man suddenly shouted, pulled a dagger out of his pocket, broke free and stabbed me.

The crowd screamed and ran backwards.

I frowned slightly, turned sideways, and raised my foot to kick.

The dagger in the middle-aged man's hand fell to the ground.

The onlookers exclaimed, "Oh my God! I didn't think Ms. Chancey could fight. She's so amazing!"

They hid in the office doorway and no longer dared to approach.

I crouched down and took control of the middle-aged man once again. I grabbed the middle-aged man by the collar and dragged him outside.

"Where are you taking me?" The middle-aged man panicked. "You let go! Let go of me! Are you trying to kill me? Someone help me!"

"Let's go to the police station and set this straight."

I dragged him out of the building, tied his wrists with a rope, threw him into the back seat, and locked the car door. After that, I got in the driver's seat and sped off in the car toward the police station.

My office was only five minutes away from the police station. As soon as the car stopped, the middle-aged man frantically slammed the door and tried to escape.

As soon as I opened the door, he rolled out. I grabbed him by the collar and dragged him toward the police station.

In the midst of the police questioning and the middle-aged man's broken words, I finally figured out what had happened.

The car accident that day was indeed planned for a long time.

The police and Royal Pack were searching for him all over the city. As a result, his car went into the river. By the time they found him, he was already dead.

The police were highly concerned about the case and were searching everywhere for clues.

"My son was very kind and very timid. He couldn't go to murder someone! It's all because of this bitch! This bitch gave a large sum of money to my son and instigated him to do it! My son..."

A police officer asked with sharp eyes, "You said Ms. Chancey went to your son. Can you say exactly what time and where?"

"I remember it was eight or nine o'clock the night before the accident, in front of my house."

The middle-aged man shuddered, "I just looked at it from a distance, but my neighbor saw her face very clearly..."

The policeman looked over at me. "Ms. Chancey, what were you doing at eight or nine o'clock that night?"

I smiled, "I was on the phone with my drawing teacher. I can provide a record of the call."

Rhett called me on video that night.

The police officer nodded and immediately called Rhett to ask for him. After receiving an affirmative response, the police officer let me leave the police station. However, the middle-aged man was involved in the details of the case and was left behind by the police for further questioning.

I stood in front of the police station. The cold wind made my brain clear a little.

If what the middle-aged man said was true, then it meant that a woman who looked like me had gone to the perpetrator.

The only woman in New York who looked similar to me was Melany....

Was it possible that Melany went to the perpetrator?

Could it be that Melany wanted to kill Essel?

Why?

My eyebrows furrowed.

Melany wanted to marry Raphael, so she should have acted like she loved Raphael's children.

Why would she want to kill Raphael's daughter?

I thought about it all the way through, but I couldn't figure it out. By the time I came to my senses, my car was already parked in front of Eclipse's villa.

I looked at the villa, my mind was filled with fire five years ago...

I took a deep breath, put these thoughts behind me, and pushed the door open to get out of the car. I was about to enter when I saw my aunt, Yoselin Chancey.

She was standing in the doorway, watering the flowers.

Yoselin heard a noise, turned around, and saw me.

Her eyes were a little surprised at first and then a little embarrassed.

"Araceli..."

I walked over and gave her a hug.

"Aunt Yoselin, we haven't seen each other for a long time. How are you feeling these days?"

Yoselin let out a long sigh.

"Araceli, when are you moving back to Eclipse?"

"Aunt Yoselin, my children and I are fine now. I don't think I'll be moving back. By the way, I came here today to ask you something..."

I suddenly wanted to know something about Melany's children.

If Melany was trying to make good plans for her son to inherit the Royal Group, then she would have a motive to kill Essel.

That child turned out to be Melany's son.

I suddenly felt a little pity.

"What's wrong?" Yoselin frowned slightly. She seemed to guess something and said, "Araceli, I really hope you can make up with Melany..."
