The Billionaire's One-Night Stand!

Chapter 112: All For You!

Chapter 112: All For You!

Flora, with drowsy eyes, suddenly remembered something: "Oh right, I spoke with Grace yesterday, and she told me a lot about you. She said most of the houses on the island were built with your money, even the public facilities. I wasn't aware of this before. Seems like I've landed an immensely rich husband, a man of vast wealth?" The cost of construction, let alone the transportation of materials from the mainland, was astronomical.

"I knew S.E.I Corporation was huge, but I had no idea you'd also invested in this..."

"That's not true." Matthew chuckled: "S.E.I's profit is indeed enormous, but the money used for the island's development didn't come from the corporation. It's a personal endeavor of mine, not part of the corporation's philanthropy."

So, the funds for this island's construction, are they Matthew's private money? Such a thought might not be entirely appropriate, yet upon hearing his words, Flora immediately wondered, could he have used money earned from the underworld to build this stunning island?

As though reading her thoughts, Matthew laughed heartily, playfully pinching her nose: "You're such a simpleton!"

He paused his laughter to clarify: "It's not ill-gotten money.

I've told you before, I've withdrawn from the underworld, renounced everything, cleansed my past and started anew with you.

Can't you trust me?" The truth is, he had abandoned everything he obtained from the underworld, with the sole exception of Blood Falcon.

But Blood Falcon wasn't necessarily an underworld force, it neither laundered money nor involved in illegal businesses.

"I can't give up Blood Falcon, because it will be a resource for our son." he said, quite seriously: "This island is rich in resources, in industries like fisheries and aquaculture, and unique local specialties... all very promising, generating significant profits.

The profits are sufficient to develop, to rebuild the island, to provide a comfortable life for everyone." What he was doing was merely helping the islanders exploit their existing resources.

"Matthew, I never knew you were the master of a seafood farm!" Flora teased.

To which Matthew nodded in agreement: "Your saying is not incorrect, my dear mistress of the seafood farm."

After jesting a little more, they moved on to a more serious topic.

Matthew asked Flora: "What if we take advantage of everyone's presence on the island, choose a wedding date, and hold our wedding?" He didn't need an extravagant ceremony, only to hold the hand of the woman he loved, with the blessings of numerous friends and relatives.

Flora also seriously pondered his suggestion, nodding: "Sounds good.

We can choose a wedding date... hmm, I wonder if there are any auspicious dates coming up?"

"Two weeks from now, what do you think?" Matthew reached for the calendar on the table, pointing to a date: "I've had someone look at the dates, they said this is a good and auspicious day, perfect for a wedding.

The wedding dress has also been designed, just waiting to be tailored to your measurements, by then it should be ready.

What else is there? Ah, the wedding rings have also been ordered."

"You've prepared everything, why even ask me?" Flora feigned surprise.

Matthew chuckled: "Well, the bride's approval is still needed... Fortunately, we already have our seven-year-old twins, perfect as flower children.

What do you think, should we decorate the ceremony with roses or some other flowers? What color would be best?"

As he started discussing wedding preparations, Matthew could hardly contain his excitement.

He was thrilled, and incredibly happy, preparing for the big day with utmost enthusiasm.

But when he noticed Flora's silence, he looked down at the bed to find her already asleep, since who knows when.

He grinned, leaned down to kiss her on the tip of her nose, and whispered: "Such a silly girl!" But he was already hopelessly in love with this silly girl.

He quietly exited the room, not wishing to disturb Flora's rest.

By the time Flora rubbed her eyes awake in bed, it was long past sunset.

There was no sign of Matthew.

She opened the glass door, stepped onto the balcony, and took a deep breath of the island's fresh air.

"The night on the island is so beautiful!" She gazed into the distance, yet for some reason, she could hear the faint sounds of commotion, as if echoing from the floor below: "What's all the noise about?" It was already late, people should have returned to their rooms for rest.

She slipped into her slippers, making her way downstairs.

Halfway down the stairs, she could clearly hear the heated debate downstairs.

"This style is beautiful, I love it! Very elegant!"

"But it's not grand enough... we need to choose a more luxurious style, one that exudes class... like this one here."

"Class? No way, this one is way too vulgar, like it's deliberately showing off."

Flora walked straight down, scratching her head as she asked the quarreling group: "What are you all... cheerfully arguing about?" Judging by the conversation, she wasn't quite sure "cheerful" was the right word.

Her mother flipped the catalogue around for her to see, smiling: "We're deciding on the wedding decorations for you two, but we've been arguing without reaching a consensus.

Here, you have a look... see which style you, the bride, likes..."

"Isn't this a bit early to be discussing this?" Flora yawned.

She thought it was something else, if it was about the wedding, why the fuss this early?

"What? How is this early?" Everyone looked at each other in confusion.

Flora's mother asked her daughter: "Are you still half asleep? The ceremony is in three days, and we're still considering the decoration. How is this early?"

Flora's eyes widened: "Three days? Didn't he say it would be in two weeks?"

"Yes, it's in three days." Everyone nodded, apparently, the bride was the only one unaware of her wedding date.

Her mother added: "Your groom wanted it as soon as possible, I checked the dates and saw that three days later is a lucky day, perfect for a wedding, so we decided on that.

Anyway, your groom has nearly everything prepared, and only needs to arrange for friends and family, the guests, to attend, so he's got someone taking care of that." She meant everything had been neatly arranged, and Flora, the bride, absolutely didn't need to worry about anything.

In an unexpected turn of events, Flora found herself astonished.

She swallowed hard, stuttering: "Let's... let's all calm down and discuss... I... I will go and find... Matthew..." She hesitated, then started for the door.

Her mother called her back: "This silly child must still be half asleep. Your husband is upstairs, in Paul's room."

"Alright." Flora nodded vigorously, rolled up her sleeves, and exclaimed: "That scoundrel... I need to deal with him!" Dare to make her feel helpless?

After she rushed off towards the upper floor, her father turned to his wife: "Don't you find our daughter's reactions... a bit peculiar?" She didn't seem like someone who knew everything about her own wedding, let alone someone who had thoughtfully decided to get married.

Instead, she appeared more like a naive young girl who had been tricked by a sly rogue.

"The Snow White princess awoke from her sleep. She and the prince lived happily ever after..." A deep voice that could melt countless young girls' hearts was narrating a fairy tale.

At that moment, Matthew was the perfect father, excessively doting on his little girl.

Flora was about to push the door open when she heard the sweet laughter of her daughter coming from the slightly ajar door. She hesitated, then dropped her hand.

She didn't want to disrupt her daughter's bedtime.

"Never mind, I'll deal with him after she falls asleep." she thought.

Downstairs, her parents were still engrossed in a discussion about their daughter's behavior.

Her mother said: "After all, it's her first time getting married. Isn't it normal for her to be a bit unsettled? You act as though everyone has skin as thick as yours!"

"Why are you blaming me now?" Flora's father exclaimed, took a deep breath, and then returned his attention to some pictures: "This hotel seems nice, and it has good reviews. A five-star hotel, the menu is decent too..."

Unexpectedly, his wife shot him a disapproving look: "You still want to squeeze a million dollars from your son-in-law? We agreed no extravagance, what matters is that the family is together. Why are you so keen on this?"

"Daddy, will the prince and princess live happily ever after? Will they go to heaven when they die?" The innocent voice of their child echoed from the bedroom door, making the mother outside involuntarily smile.

Matthew nodded: "Of course, the prince and the princess will definitely live happily together. They always do good things, so when they die, they'll definitely go to heaven." He paused, and then added: "The story ends here for today, it's time for daddy's princess to sleep."

Paul nodded and was about to lie down in bed when she noticed a hint of a slim skirt behind the door. Recognizing her mother's dress, she called out: "Mommy!"

With no option left to hide, Flora smiled and pushed open the bedroom door.

The moment she stepped inside, her daughter tattled: "Mommy, hit daddy! Daddy's bad, he wants me to go to the hospital, he won't let me stay home with you anymore..."

Confused as to why her daughter wanted her to scold her husband, Flora turned her questioning gaze towards Matthew, wondering what was happening.

He laughed nervously: "I'm just worried about our daughter's health... Dr. Andrey talked to me today, and said Paul needs to be in the hospital for some time to recover quickly. Our house is very close to the hospital, we can visit her every day." He had intentionally built the hospital close to their mansion, wanting to be nearer to his daughter.

"It's bedtime, we can discuss this tomorrow." He patted his daughter's head, speaking softly: "Your mom and dad love you the most. You need to rest well to get better." After tucking her into bed, he left the room.

Just as he was nearing the door, he heard his daughter call from behind: "Daddy, will you tell me the story of The Little Mermaid tomorrow?"

"Sure." Matthew nodded without hesitation.

Whatever story his daughter wanted to hear, he would take out time to read to her.

They both wished her goodnight and left the room, one after the other.
