She Came On To Me

When Jason entered the living room, the first person he saw was James. Without a word, he punched him so hard in the face, that James's nose fractured immediately, and he fell to the floor.

"Jason! What is wrong with you?" Mirenda yelled and quickly went to James, who was now recovering from the punch.

Mrs Haward quickly came out of her room, hearing the fall accompanied by Mirenda's yelling.

"What is going on here?" Mrs Haward questioned, but Jason said nothing. He turned to walk away.

"Jason, I am talking to you," Mrs Haward yelled before Jason could exit the apartment.

Jason slowly turned to face Mrs Haward; his face red with anger. "Well, it so happens, that Playboy here doesn't know the meaning of out of bonds," he said angrily.

"So, you hit your elder brother because he entered a place he wasn't supposed to?" Mrs Haward questioned angrily.

"Mum, I think you should let him tell you what exactly he did to my wife," Jason replied, pointing to James, who was now sitting on the sofa and Mirenda was attending to his bleeding nose.

"I don't know what you are talking about," James said defensively.

"Jason, so you hit your brother because of that flea?" yelled Mrs Haward.

"Mum, please don't call her that. Her name is Julia, and she is my wife," Jason defended.

"Whatever, but you have no right to hit your elder brother because of her," Mrs Haward yelled.

"Okay, would you prefer I have the company HR deal with him?" Jason questioned and Mrs Haward frowned, now wondering what James did exactly.

"I don't think so, because sexual harassment is a serious issue in the company and the rules are clear," Jason pointed out.

"Sexual harassment?" Mrs Haward repeated with eyes widened, but knowing her son, she very much knew what he was capable of doing, but she still pretended. "You believe your elder brother did that?" she questioned.

"So I guess she told you and you believe her. Did you ask your brother for his side of the story?" Mrs Haward added.

"I don't need to ask when the evidence is all there," Jason said, and James panicked.

"What evidence is he talking about?" James thought.

Mirenda realizes James suddenly tensed up when Jason mentioned evidence, but she kept mute.

"Son, my boy, what exactly happened," Mrs Haward turned to James and asked, walking towards him.

Mrs Haward sat next to James on the sofa and examined his broken nose.

"Mum, I swear, I was in my office when she walked in and said she just wanted to welcome me. My mistake was offering her a seat. I should have sent that bitch away. We spoke for a while and I stood up to walk her to the door. That was when she threw herself at me. I may have wounded her when I tried to push her away. So, she came onto me. I didn't do anything," James lied, acting like the victim.

"See, he didn't do anything. Besides which woman does he want that he never got? Have you seen the types of ladies your brother goes out with? Does your flea fit into the profile?" Mrs Haward said defensively, even though she could tell James was lying.

"If you want to go with that story, you shouldn't have sent your secretary to fetch her from her department for you," Jason pointed out, and Mrs Haward turned to James.

"I didn't send for her," James defended.

Jason looked at him, not saying anything further.

"Apologize to your brother for accusing him falsely, and you will pay the bill for his fractured nose," said Mrs Haward.

"Brother, in the future, if you want to tell a story, make sure the CCTV has the accompanying footage," Jason added, and James went pale. "What happened, brother? You suddenly look white like a sheet," he questioned, and everyone was silent.

"Please excuse me, I don't feel like sleeping here tonight," Jason said, and exited the apartment.

"Are you stupid or what? Can't you control yourself around women?" Mrs Haward yelled angrily at James as soon as Jason left.

"Mum, you knew he was lying and you still defended him? Why?" Mirenda asked, confused.

"Stay away from her. If you want girls, go to the club and pick one, and I hope you are protecting yourself from catching any incurable disease?" Mrs Haward said, ignoring Mirenda.

Mirenda rolled her eyes and never understood why their mother turned to support any nonsense from James.

"Find a way and apologise to her, so she doesn't use this against you later. Remember what your brother said, there are CCTVs so also be careful what you do in the office," Mrs Hawaard warned, and left for her room.

"You are just impossible. I may not like that girl, but what you did to her was wrong. Do you have boundaries when it comes to girls?" Mirenda said angrily and threw the cotton at James's face.

Mirenda left James to take care of himself, leaving the first aid kit on the table.

"Nobody humiliates me like that and goes free. I will deal with this bitch soon. She will wish she had never been born," James murmured under his breath as he attended to his broken nose.

Jason, after exiting the 6th-floor apartment, went to the 7th-floor. He entered the living room, went straight to the kitchen and made himself a cup of tea. He felt good after putting James in his place for what he did, but what was that feeling he was getting? He always wants to see Julia; he wants to protect her. She had such beautiful skin, and he hated that James put a mark on her. He went up to his room, and she was still sleeping curled up like a shrimp on the bed.

"Is she cold?" Jason thought.

He increased the room temperature a little and changed his clothes into something comfortable after a shower. When he entered the bedroom, Julia was awake. He instantly felt bad waking her up. Her eyes were still puffy.

"Sorry for waking you up," Jason apologizes and realizes she was still shaken from the office incident.

Jason sat on the edge of the bed and looking at Julia's face he said. "Calm down. My brother is not going to bother you again. I will make sure of that. I promise," he assured Julia and she nodded.

Although Julia was surprised, she had already started noticing Jason was gradually changing the way he treated her. He was getting more and more gentle and concerned about her.

"I will get you something comfortable to change into, go take a shower," Jason said, and Julia nodded, got down from the bed and headed for the bathroom.

Jason went through his clothes and picked one of his pyjamas for her. She returned to the bedroom in a bathrobe, and he handed it to her and excused her, so she would feel comfortable to change. Julia opened the door for Jason to come back in after she was done. The trousers wouldn't fit as her waist was quite small, so she wore just a shirt whose length was long enough to cover half of her thigh. Jason smiled, looking at her. He was taller than her and his upper torso was well-built, making his shirt quite big on Julia, but she looked cute. He opened the first aid kit and gave her an ointment to apply on the wounds James inflated on her chest.

"Are you okay sharing the same bed with me?" Jason asked and Julia lowered her head shyly.

Jason wanted an excuse to share a bed with her. He just wanted to feel her skin again and her closeness to himself again, but he didn't want to sound obvious. Julia was unable to answer yes or no to his question as she felt both answers might mean something else. She stood there biting her nails in complete silence. Jason was dazed by her beauty and found himself inching closer to her. He carried her and walked towards the bed. She tensed up immediately thinking something was going to happen, but he just laid her on the bed and covered her with a blanket. He also got under the sheet and pulled her into his arms.

"Get some rest, we have work tomorrow," Jason whispered behind her ears.

Jason's warm breath tickled Julia's ears and sent chills down her spine. She nodded but was still tense for a while before she found herself nestling in his arms when sleep took over her. Once she was asleep, Jason ran his hand from her shoulder down to her wrist affectionately and back to her shoulder, planting a kiss on her neck. He stopped the moment she moved. Julia turned in her sleep and putting her arms across his chest, she placed her head on his chest and continued sleeping. He wrapped his arms around her, kissed the top of her head and also went to sleep.

The next day, Jason went to the 6th-floor apartment and went straight to Julia's room and picked up some clothes from her wardrobe for her. He collected some packed breakfast for her too and returned to the 7th floor.

"How are the bruises on your chest?" Jason inquired as soon as he entered the room.

Julia was in a bathrobe. "It's better," she replied, her voice very low.

Julia thanked Jason and took the clothes from him and went to the bathroom to change. Not bothering about James, Jason left with Julia for work. On their way to work, he was wondering how he would protect her from James. In the absence of an immediate solution, she went back to her department and Jason to his office, which was on the third floor.

Later in the day, Julia went to the architecture storage room to retrieve a building plan which was used for an old project. Although it was on the same second floor as the architecture department, it was in the corner of the next hallway. The department head wanted to see what was agreed on paper before the building was put up, so Julia went to get it.

James was returning to his office from the cafeteria and happened to pass through that hallway, so he saw Julia entering the storage room. He looked around, realizing no one was around. He entered the storage room and shut the door behind him.

The closing of the door caused Julia to turn, coming face to face with James, who looked at her smiling sinisterly.
