Chapter 145
Chapter 145
Harmony
I've turned into a spoilt brat again, I know, but this time, I swear I can’t help it.
My body ain’t my own. Or my mind.
I'm trying my hardest not to be a bitch, but it happens anyway. For two weeks now I've been moody, snappy, hungry, and horny as fuuuuuk.
I’d stay on Jaheim's dick if I could.
Ella even had to save me last week from bleeding out, and then it took Boo two days to touch me again after, and that's only because Ella had strict words with him.
“Harmony can't help what she's doing, just like you couldn't when you were close to your change. You love her, don't you?”
“Of course I do. More than anything.”
“Then stop keeping your hands to yourself, or I'll make you touch her.”
“You wouldn't.”
“Try me, King.”
He gave in and now just gags me when I get too mouthy instead. I miss talking shit to him, but at least he's not keeping his hands off me anymore. I know I’ve pushed him so much over these ten months, but he’s done so well with not hurting me.
I leave the others seasoning the meat for the grill, and after snatching my six-month-old baby brother from Mom and wrapping him in another blanket, I take him for a walk around the lake. He's calming; there really is something about babies that are soothing to the soul.
We might not live in the same house, but I've made sure I spend a lot of time with Rome. I want us to be close like Ella is to Amarey and Andreas. I even chose his name. Mom and dad were arguing over it for weeks, but I suggested Roman James and now here he is. He’s adorable and I love him so much.
When I think of all the boys chilling together, I know they’re gonna be straight heartbreakers. The four of them are gonna get into some real shit, but I’ve already decided I’m gonna be the fun aunt. They’ll always be able to come to me.
For anything.
I reach the other side of the lake and sit on the grass to admire how beautiful this place is. The sun’s out but it’s still a little cold. We all worked so hard on making it perfect. It's three storeys, six beds, four baths, and painted a light-yellow colour. It has a basement, too, but it has a secret entry through the study because no one’s allowed down there except me and Jaheim.
It's our very own Hush room, and Jaheim kitted it out with every freaky toy, every piece of kinky furniture, and every pleasure device he could find. It's the width and length of the entire house and of course it’s soundproofed like all the other rooms are in there.
But we don't spend all our time down there, believe it or not. My favourite sex is still just me and Jaheim. No toys, no restraints, just us, and I can’t wait to experience that kinda lovemaking with him after my change when there won’t be any holding back from either of us.
None at all.
Things are better than ever. Jaheim asked me to marry him not long after he sorted things out with Davonyé, and I've been Misses King for six months now. We got married in the Bahamas with just our closest family there with us. Jaheim’s sister was his best woman and Ella was my maid of honour.
It was the best day of my life.
We honeymooned during the winter and I now study from home like Ella and Davonyé do. Our five free schools are thriving, helping so many underprivileged kids. Jaheim moved his offices to Montréal and doesn’t go back to Ontario anymore. Evette’s called him a few times, but he’s distant with her, though I wish he wasn’t.
I still hope they sort things out, even if him and Carisse never do. Especially now she’s seen the true side to her precious daughter. Ella told us that Carr was caught out in a lie, a few lies actually, and Evette kicked her out, realising what Jaheim said was true and blaming her for the relationship between them breaking down.
That was three months ago.
She feels guilty about what happened, especially now, cuz she was meant to take care of her best friend’s son and feels like she failed. But Jaheim feels like it’s too little too late and won’t let it go.
And I don’t know if he ever will.
Ella appears beside me, holding Amarey on her lap. “What you thinking?”
“Besides what you just heard? Just how perfect my life is.”
She looks across the lake. “Yeah, it is. How you feeling?”
“A little anxious. I just wanna get it over and done with now.” I spot Jaheim over by the grill, laughing with Von and my Uncle Dee. “I just want him to be free.”
She rests her hand on my arm. “He is free, Har. You are everything to him. You can't see how different he is? That's because of your love for him and his for you.”
“I know, but he's spent so long being controlled and restricted when it comes to me. I just look forward to when he can let go.”
“I understand. You've done well these past ten months, both of you have.” She smirks. “I was expecting to be drained of blood, if I’m honest.”
I roll my eyes. “Thanks. I appreciate your faith in us.”
“It’s not that, it’s just that most wares in your position wouldn't have made it this far without some serious injuries. That shows you how strong his feelings are for you. And if he hadn’t been into that life, your ass would've known true pain, and not just the good kind he puts on your body.”
I laugh. “Are you sure you don't watch? Cuz I’m used to it y’know.”
“No, I fucking don’t.” She shakes her head. “I get enough freakiness from my own mate, thank you very much.”
I laugh harder. “I bet that ware sex be breaking bones and all sorts.”
She blushes. “Something like that.”
“Hell, I can't wait to find out.”
“You will soon enough.”
Amarey escapes from her arms, so she erects a playpen and we place both boys inside before sitting back down on a bench that Ella’s made appear. Amarey’s almost one now and is so bright for his age. He started walking a few months ago, too.
“Amarey’s just different, ain't he.”
She smiles wistfully. “He is. He really is.”
“Have you seen his mate yet?”
She suddenly looks far away. “Yeah.”
“Is she nice?”
She sighs. ‘She's different.’
I frown, wondering why she’s moved this conversation to our minds. ‘Hey, what's wrong? Is he gonna have to wait a long time to find her?’
‘No... She's been born already. She's just, different.’
‘Oh, God, is she a psycho? Is she human or ware?’
She shakes her head. ‘If I tell you something, you have to swear on your life not to tell anyone. Not even Jaheim. At least not yet.’
Oh, shit... ‘Okay...’
Her dark eyes flash with a spark of blue. ‘Swear.’
Lawd, this must be bad. ‘I swear on my life, Ella.’
She sighs deeply. ‘His mate is called Karrisee, and she's from the kratius.’
‘What?’
She nods. ‘Yeah.’
‘Fuck! How long have you known?’
‘A while.’
‘But… What will your mom and dad say? They hate them.’
‘I know. They were meant to meet Vallessa and Scarva, but they didn't because mom got pregnant and now it’s been forgotten again. Let's just say, Vallessa is a lot more open to befriending us than mom and dad are them.’
‘Oh, God, Girl...’
She takes a quick look at Amarey. ‘I dunno what I'm gonna do, but he's my brother and I won't keep his mate from him.’
‘But can they even be together? Don’t they drink from each other?’
‘Between me, Aura, and Vallessa, anything is possible. And I mean anything.’
‘Shit… So how long have you got?’
‘About twenty years.’
‘I don't envy you one bit.’
She smiles weakly. ‘No-one would.’
‘Oh, Ella…’ I pull her into a hug. ‘Try not to worry, okay? Aunt Abriya knows how important it is for her children to find their mates. She will have to accept it. Make her see they ain't the same as they were before. Make her see how different they are now that Vallessa is Queen.’
She nods against my shoulder before I release her. ‘Yeah. Anyway, enough about that. It’s almost your birthday and I don’t wanna be on a downer.’ “Let's go eat. You're hungry.”
“Am I?”
“Yeah.”
