WELCOME BACK HOME 2
WELCOME BACK HOME 2
Callan was the first to step out of the car, followed by David. Orla remained inside, taking in the beauty of the enormous building standing in front of her.
She conceded to the fact Callan was rich and she shouldn't expect less, but not this mighty. She was the daughter of a billionaire, her father was rich too but she had never seen a mansion looking so exquisite before.
All her life, she had been confined to her room and not allowed to leave the house unless she had to go to college and her father's chauffeur always made sure he took her to school and back home every day.
She had zero time to socialize the way her sisters did. She had always been the unseen daughter, the one her father didn't want the world to know about. She was the forsaken daughter.
She lacked a social life, just the internet kept her sane sometimes, but even that wasn't real life.
"Welcome back home, Boss." David tendered the car keys to Callan when he had parked it in the garage, creating a space for it amongst the other six cars parked in there.
Orla explored the house with Betty in her arms. She was giggling, whispering unclear words to her as she walked through the surroundings. When Callan had gone inside, David signaled to her to follow suit.
She nodded her head, took one more glance at the glassy tall windows before she hurried after him, making a mental note to tour the manor later. There was a lot she was yet to see, and curiosity was killing her.
He swiftly passed the foyer, sliding into the living room. Orla grabbed the door before it shut. She walked in, eyes on the tall coved ceilings.
The crystal chandeliers attached to the ceilings beamed with a very bright light that caused Betty to jump. She figured they were in a different environment and she seemed excited about it.
They went further into the living room, her eyes scouring and taking note of everything that was in there.
Different designs of couches and divans were arranged on various parts of the living room, a glass coffee table with flowers atop was placed in the center. That wasn't new to her, she had seen it before. But the paintings on the wall swept her off her feet, from the smallest ones to the baroque paintings, she loved them all.
Without being told, she concluded Callan had a thing for paintings. She did too, but never got the chance to explore like she wished to.
"This is my house," Callan said wryly.
"You have a beautiful one here." She smiled, her eyes still flickering around the vast living room, carefully scrutinizing everything that was in there.
Aside from the paintings, the media shelf that was crammed with a lot of books and a floating TV in between also gripped her interest. Everything about the house was perfect. She loved it.
"This painting is nice," she said, gesturing to a large frame of abstract faces painting. When Callan didn't give a response, she smiled to conceal the embarrassment. "Now, you don't roam around the house, okay?" She carefully dropped Betty on the tiles and straightened up to look back at Callan whose eyes were glued to his phone.
She knew something was wrong but she didn't know how to ask him what it was. They weren't close and even if she tried, she was certain Callan would never tell her anything. He didn't regard her as his wife after all.
"Come with me," he shoved his phone into his pocket, sauntering towards a small door. He clicked the buttons and the door opened up to an elevator. "You can use the stairs if you don't want to get in now." Callan said, but she hurried into the elevator before it shut close.
"Where are we heading?" She looked at him when they were inside.
He glared at her and quirked his brows. "I thought you were smart enough to know that we are heading upstairs."
"Oh, Betty is downstairs and I..."
"Who cares about Betty?" Callan countered her words. "And you should watch over her in the house. I won't let her muck up my house."
"Can I get a coop for her if you don't want her in here? Or is there an open space where I can keep her? She means a lot to me and I don't want to leave her alone to wander around."
Callan scoffed, "Enough of talks about your cat. I don't care whatever you do with her."
The elevator stopped and he pressed the button to pull the door open. He matched into the hallway striding swiftly and Orla struggled to catch up with his pace but he was just too fast. He halted his steps when he got to a room.
Orla was still far behind him, he waited for her to get to where he was standing before he unlocked the door to the room.
She stood by the door, peeking in but she didn't get a good view of what the room looked like.
"Come in," he knew she had an interest in checking out the room.
She smiled satisfactorily as she took slow steps into the bedroom.
The coziness of the bedroom enwrapped her, creating a warm feeling in her chest. The lights were not too bright but they were clear enough for her to notice everything important about the room.
The King sized bed, another set of paintings. The vanity mirror and table, the tall mirror stand and... everything was luxurious, typical of how a billionaire's bedroom should be. She suddenly wished she could share the room with him, but she knew it was impossible.
She turned back to him and asked, "Can I have the keys to one of the guestrooms?"
"You won't be staying in the guestroom." He ambled towards the vanity table. "Rosa prepared all your things and they are in this room. Check over there," he pointed towards the double closet that was adjoined to each other. "You will see some female clothes and that's your side."
Orla doubted his words. He made it clear to her that he couldn't share a room with her, and now he was telling her to stay in the bedroom.
She didn't understand what was going on until she took some steps towards the part of the room Callan talked about and there were clothes of different colors, brands and designs. Clothes she never owned, clothes she never dreamed of owning even though her father was a billionaire.
Her clothes were cast-offs. Her father made sure he got her nothing. Feeding was the only thing he did for her in the house, she had to turn to Sophia if she needed other things and when Sophia couldn't get it, she had to let go.
"Are these clothes all mine?" She was moved, tears clouded her vision as she rummaged through the clothes. She didn't believe it, she had designer clothes now.
"I am not a lady," Callan murmured.
She veered around, staring at him with an appreciative smile.
“Thank you so much, Callan. Thank you, you always get me new clothes. No one ever considered doing that for me." The tears spilled down her cheeks, dropping in folds that were hard to control. She let out sniffles as she sobbed, she was touched by Callan's generosity towards her.
"I didn't do it because I care about you. I don't know what you are thinking that's getting you so emotional, but whatever it is, you are wrong." He sighed. "I got you dresses because you need them. I mean, you are married to me! And as my wife, you should be presentable." His eyes burned into hers, but she didn't waver. She beheld his gaze and smiled.
"Thank you, Callan. It doesn't matter. It’s fine as long as you got me clothes." She nodded, taking her eyes off him. "Where will I sleep?"
"On this bed," he answered sharply, pointing at the king sized bed. "Do not be overwhelmed with your emotions. The bed and the room are the only things that we share. Every other thing is out of reach for you and I honestly do not give a fuck about you."
"I understand you." Whatever he was saying meant nothing to her now, all she was concerned about was that Callan cared enough about her to get her new clothes and even let her share the bedroom with him.
"I am done here. I have things to do."
Orla smiled, staring at her husband as he flounced out of the room, slamming the door behind him.
She hurried towards the bed and jumped on it. She had never had the opportunity to sleep on a bed that big. The one in her was smaller than this, and the one she shared with Betty at the penthouse was a lot smaller too.
She quickly stood up to lay the bed when she noticed some rumples on the sheets. She was straightening the sheets when it struck her mind that she hadn't seen any maid in the house since they arrived and she wondered if Callan really didn't have maids or if they were away because the house was under renovation for months.
The beeping of her phone jolted her out of thought, she checked the screen and surprisingly, it was Mia.
Orla dropped the phone on the bed, panic consuming her insides. She wondered how Mia got her number, none of her family members had her number but she was able to get theirs from the maids.
The phone began to ring again and fear gripped her, she never thought Mia could ever call her. That aside, why was she calling her that morning? She was curious as she swiped on the screen to accept the call.

Worry assaulted Callan's expression as he slipped into the elevator. The contract he was bidding for was a very simple one that didn't require much effort to win but he had done all he could do, and still, he was yet to be awarded.
He never lost any of his bidding, he hated to lose and when he was close to losing, he would fight harder until he won.
He had begun to re-strategise when his phone chimed, gripping his attention. He took out the phone from the pocket of his trousers, glancing through to read the email he just got.
"Damn it!" He cussed, swiping to the next email. His frown was gradually replaced with a huge smile as he read through. "It just had to be mine." He smirked, shoving the phone back into his pocket. He finally nailed the contract he had been working on.
He picked up a call from Rosa and they discussed business and office-related issues. Another call came in when he dropped the call, he picked up and without checking, he knew the voice of his newest whore, Cassandra.
"Tonight by 7 pm, meet me at the penthouse." He ended the call and smiled but the smile faded when he thought of Orla. He was about to cheat on her again and somehow, he felt guilty about that. "I deserve this." He assured himself that he was right but deep down, he knew he was very wrong, but there was no going back.
Cassandra was coming over and it was only right that he gave her mind-blowing sex.
