Chapter 55 Secret? What secret?

Rachel's POV

About half an hour ago

"Ok, this is really scary." I said breathing in and out quickly to calm my raging nerves.

I was in a helicopter.

A freaking fucking flying helicopter!

How was in a helicopter right now again?

"It's alright, it would be a short trip." I heard Marina say and I glared at her.

Short? Really short?

How was a journey from here to Florida, specifically Miami short? What did she think of me, stupid?

Marina raised her hands in surrender, taking the seat opposite me. "Okay, it's pretty long, but we'll get there in just a few hours.$

I almost rolled my eyes at her statement. If not for how scared I was, I would have.

Just a few hours? Did she think I would last that long?

I was about giving her an answer when I heard the man seated beside me laugh.

I turned to him, giving him a dumb look. "And what's so funny mister?" I asked.

Raine coughed before sitting up straight. "Nothing, I'm just..."

"Just what?" I insisted, my look turning to a glare. Did he think I was funny? Did anyone here think I was funny? If we were not already in the sky, I would have opted out by now.

I could feel the beads if sweat on my forehead and goosebumps on my neck and hands.

Why did I agree to do this???

"Just nothing. Why don't you put on the headphones? You look like you need it." He said gesturing to the headphones I clutched tightly in my hands when we first got into the copter.

Oh, yeah... I forgot about those.

I placed them on slowly before turning on the Bluetooth. Raine immediately brought out his phone, but I held his hand.

"No... I want to play my own songs." I muttered taking out my own phone and connecting it to the headset.

A soothing melody began to play and my racing heart began slowing down. A song by Teresa Taylor, the piano prodigy. It was one of my best piano sheet music, and it never failed to calm me down.

"Are you alright?" Marina asked after a few moments and I nodded my head in response.

Though I was not entirely alright, this was a start.

"So, About the guy I saw you talking to yesterday at the party..." Raine began and I opened one of my eyes to look at him.

Who was he talking about?

He was shifting in his seat and he has his eyes fixed on the bottom of the plane, he was even fiddling with his hands. This got to be interesting.

"Which one? I talked to alot of people yesterday." I asked sitting up to face him.

Raine glanced at me, before bringing his head back down nervously.

Why was he so nervous?

I glanced at Marina who looked at Raine, and then at me back again, before shrugging.

"You know... The man."

Man?

Was he talking about David?

I clenched my jaw before glaring at Raine in annoyance.

"Are you talking about David? The jerk I spoke too? What do you want from him? Are you in any chance doing business with him?" I asked all at once, and Raine raised up his head and shook his hands in front of me. "Hey... Hold up. Who is this David? He asked before shaking his head. "The guy name is not David."

It's not?

Who else then? My brows crunched in confusion.

" Ethan... Ethan Wright". He suddenly stated and my eyes widened in surprise.

What could he want with Ethan? Do they know each other? Or could it be that he liked the guy?

No, no... I shook my head trying to shake the thought off.

Ethan said he wasn't gay, and from what I knew about Raine he wasn't either. The guy was a Casanova, a playboy. He was said to have multiple girlfriends at a time despite his tight schedule as one of the top male actors in the country.

But it could all just be a cover up for his real sexuality. It was also said that he couldn't last more than three months in a relationship, before breaking up.

Could he possibly like Ethan?

Dargh... Rachel what are you thinking?

"Why are you asking about him?" I heard Marina ask snapping me out of my thoughts.

I shook my head before forcing a smile to my face.

"Yeah... Raine why are you asking about him? You can't possibly like him do you?" I asked with a small nervous laugh.

Marina glanced at me with a raised brow why Raine just looked at me like I said something funny.

"What? It was joke." I brushed off crossing my hands while looking away, my cheeks hot from embarrassment.

Argh...

"I don't know what you're talking about." Raine shook his head, but then I head him take a breath. "But I'm asking about him because, from what I know he's your boyfriend..."

"What?"

"How do you know about that?"

Me and Marina asked at the same time staring at Raine with the same shocked expression.

How did he know that?

And why did he say it like that... "He's your boyfriend" he said dragging the words. Was he not happy about it? Could it be that he liked me perhaps?

'You know what Rachel, fucking stop thinking!'

I glanced up at Raine who had an amused but surprised smirk on his face. "Seriously guys, calm down. I didn't know it was secret of any kind."

"Secret?" I coughed to clear my throat because my voice was way too high "What secret?"

Raine looked between me and Marina before shaking his head "You two are acting really weird."

Marina scoffed resting her back on her seat. "No we're not. It's just that we're surprised that you know about..."

"...

About my relationship, since I'm yet to openly reveal it...yet" I continued taking it up from where Marina stopped.

My lips immediately widened in a smile when Raine looked back at me to confirm of what I was telling was the truth, and gladly he nodded.

Phew... I cleaned an invisible sweat from my head while releasing a breath I had no idea I was holding. I couldn't even hear the song that was playing right at my ears anyone, my mind was totally occupied with finding out how Raine knew of my relationship with Ethan.

It was not as if we did anything particularly bold that told everyone we were together, though I plan on doing that.

So how?

"Hannah told me." Raine suddenly said and my eyes jerked up to look at him.

"Huh?"

Hannah? The crazy sister?

"I know you're thinking about how I found out, and there it is, Hannah told me." He explained, shifting slighting on his seat. " Well, she didn't tell me in that exact words, it kinda... Sort of, maybe em... Slipped? But I didn't know it was a secret." He said guiltily

I immediately held out my hands shaking my head. "It's not a secret. I was just surprised that's all."

Hannah told him. Wow!

I had no idea he was even close to that woman. But how was I supposed to be aware? It was not like I monitor all the kid actors parents lives or anything.

"You and Hannah are close?" I heard Marina ask as she tilted her head slowly to the side to make the question sound innocent, but I knew it wasn't. She was insinuating something.

Raine blinked before he nodded, then he shook his head immediately. "We're friends, but I want us to be more."
