Chapter 367 Defeating the Justice League - Step 1

Chapter 367 The First Step to Defeating the Justice League

"Are we just going to wait to be found?"

Harley lay on the sofa, the table and floor beside her piled with snack wrappers and plates.

Rune floated in mid-air, seemingly asleep, while mentally learning about telepathy from Professor X.

Whether as an old man or as a superhuman who has lived most of his life, Professor X's wisdom is something Rune should learn from.

Upon hearing Harley's words, Rune nodded. "Of course, be patient."

To defeat the Justice League, the first obstacle to overcome is Batman. While ostensibly the weakest human among the seven Justice League leaders, he has repeatedly pulled off miraculous feats. Any villain who dares to underestimate Batman will pay a heavy price.

The first step in defeating the Crime Syndicate and the Justice League is actually quite similar. As Batman's counterpart, Owl had already taken that step long ago. Or rather, Thomas never set any rule for himself not to kill anyone from the beginning.

Bruce established a rule of never killing, knowing full well that this was the final line between himself and the darkness he was fighting against, and that the consequences of breaking it would be unimaginable—the Maniac Laughter being a prime example.

However, Thomas believed that might makes right, and after repeated practice, he found that killing was the most efficient tool to achieve his goals. Therefore, he relied on the fear brought about by killing to consolidate his power.

But what they have in common is that they both inherited a huge fortune from the Wayne family and were both strategic masters.

A detective expert, a martial arts master, and a technological genius, all possessing superhuman, almost obsessive willpower, capable of enduring immense pain.

Therefore, Rune would never underestimate Thomas Wayne.

The clown didn't make things particularly difficult for Dick; he quickly killed the Claw leader. As Rune gazed at his Night Owl lover, he suddenly recalled the scandal in the real world concerning the second Robin, Jason Todd.

After the major event Crisis on Infinite Earths reboot, Jason Todd became unruly, stubborn, and irritable, frequently disobeying Batman's orders, which aroused the dissatisfaction of many fans.

So the editors launched a telephone poll to decide Jason Todd's fate. The vote to kill Jason won by a narrow margin of 72 votes, resulting in the death of the second Robin. Batman, at the time, held Jason's body and wailed in anguish.

This gave Rune an idea: although Dick Grayson is not the second Robin and Nite Owl is not Batman, the relationship between the two is interconnected.

Moreover, given the crimes committed by Dick and Night Owl, Rune felt no remorse when he made the suggestion. It was precisely because of this "brilliant idea" that the clown fell in love with the mysterious mage.

Rather than killing Dick outright and then heading straight to Thomas's territory to kill him, Rune preferred to lure Thomas into the Jokers' territory.

After all, no one knows how many tricks the Night Owl has up his sleeve.

Upon hearing Rune's reply, Harley Quinn took a deep breath, then rolled around on the sofa, screaming, "I want to go out! I want to go out and play!"

Good heavens, I really don't know why the Joker and the buffoon both chose Harley Quinn. Although Harley Quinn is beautiful, this kind of madness is simply deadly.

Suddenly, Rune's super senses picked up some information, and he smiled, "Harley, although we can't go out, some old friends are coming to visit."

"Yay!" Harley laughed after hearing Rune's words.

Half an hour ago.

Nite Owl and Batman have many differences, such as their beliefs, their style of doing things, and their subordinates—in this universe, Nite Owl is the leader of the Court of Owls.

The Night Owl stood in the Court of Owls' lair. Ancient stone walls and strange murals gave the place a mystical, ritualistic feel, but Wayne's technological modifications created a sense of disharmony. Thomas Wayne wore a suit of armor custom-made for him, a fusion of the Court of Owls' claw tradition and cutting-edge technology. Deep black and cold silver formed the base colors of the armor, with the shoulder armor sculpted into somber owl heads, and the helmet's visors emitting an ominous red glow.

Before him lay the claws of the terrifying wealth accumulated by the Court of Owls over centuries.

They emerged silently from the shadows, hundreds and thousands of them filling the vast underground space. Their eyes uniformly shone with a cold, icy blue light, their skin was as pale as wax, and the sharp claws protruding from their fingertips gleamed with a green light.

Clearly, they had poisoned their weapons.

When such a large number of humanoid beings stood together, there was almost no sound of speaking, only the faint sound of metal clashing. Such terrifying discipline was enough to send chills down anyone's spine.

"They took one of us."

The owl's voice came through the helmet, deep and distorted, with a metallic quality, but Alfred, the outsider beside him, could hear the young master's anger and sorrow.

"They not only took his life, but also desecrated him by the most vile means, turning his glory, his loyalty, and all the sacrifices he made for our great cause into a vile, insane joke!"

Night Owl clenched his fist. "Dick Grayson, my favorite claws, dismembered and embellished by two bedbugs, turned into a 'gift'! This disgrace can only be washed away with blood and tears!"

The owl's rage seemed to travel through the hearts of all the claws with his words: "I will make them howl in agony as they bleed to their last drop. I will make them regret ever being born!"

Night Owl suddenly opened his arms wide, embracing the entire Claw Legion as if embracing a child.

"Go, Claws! Tonight there is no judgment, only hunting! There is only one objective: to utterly annihilate the Joker Gang!"

Countless eyes turned to Night Owl, a cold glint flashing in them.

"In the name of the court, in the name of the night owl, in the name of Dick Grayson, trigger!"

There were no shouts, no responses, only silence. Like robots receiving commands, the Claws turned simultaneously, transforming into silent shadows as they surged out of the courthouse, their target the Joker and Harley Quinn's hideout—the long-abandoned underground nuclear explosion-proof facility.

Alfred stood humbly behind the Night Owl, and unlike his master, he was in a good mood; Dick was finally dead.

The outsider had wanted to kill Dick for a long time. His existence seriously hindered Thomas's progress in continuing the family legacy. Fortunately, the clown and Harley Quinn were useful enough, and his deliberate leak of information was worthwhile.

After seeing Claws leave, Night Owl seemed to know Alfred's thoughts. He turned and stared at the loyal old man until large beads of sweat appeared on the man's forehead.

"Alfred, there will be no next time—"
