Chapter 170 The Phantom Cat's Hobbies Are a Little Strange

Why did Rune consider Doctor Strange a traitor? The reason is actually quite simple. After Rune rescued Doctor Strange, he didn't immediately retrieve the Time Stone, nor did he contact the King, nor did he contact his girlfriend and Dark Dimension Sorcerer Supreme, Cly.

Most importantly, Doctor Strange didn't even bother to look at the New York Sanctum, which he could have easily cleared with a wave of his hand.

He didn't even care whether Rune would re-enter. Therefore, Rune believed that Doctor Strange was a traitor, or even that he wasn't the Strange of this world at all.

Rune had previously wondered why, despite its value, the Time Stone couldn't possibly conceal the Eye of the Observer in Red Skull's hand. Why then did Baron Mordo and Kaecilius torture Doctor Strange to force him to reveal the Time Stone's location? It turns out it was all a staged act of self-inflicted suffering.

Now that the New York Sanctum has been destroyed, the other two Sanctums are likely doomed as well. But the question remains: "Where is the real Doctor Strange?" Frank frowned.

"I guess it's in the Dark Realm." Rune spoke with a relaxed demeanor, as if he didn't care at all that Red Skull was about to become a berserker ProMa. "Kri is now the Sorcerer Supreme of the Dark Realm and Dormammu's niece. Her power, combined with Doctor Strange's, should be enough to stop any of Red Skull's minions from their first wave of attacks."

"We must rescue the real Doctor Strange!" Daredevil declared, but Frank shook his head.

"That's just Rune's guess," Frank said.

"Even if Doctor Strange isn't in the Dark Realm, we still have to go there," Rune reminded us. "Now that Red Skull has gathered most of the villains, we can't let them take down the other heroes scattered around the world one by one."

We must split up and gather all the heroes together—including Clee.

"Should we warn the Avengers?" Daywalker frowned. "If they really do have a mole among them..."

That..."

"No," Frank refused. "No one knows Fury better than I do. That guy's stubbornness is beyond your imagination. And since Rune was able to figure it out, Fury has most likely noticed it too. Reminding Fury now will only disrupt his plans."

Could Fury see Doctor Strange's problem? Rune wasn't sure, but he didn't expect to solve the problem by relying on others; he had his own plan.

"Alright, everyone, please leave here first and gather all the other heroes you can contact, then come to my cabin," Rune concluded. "Scarlet Witch will stay here; her mission is very important. And Logan, you stay behind."

The other heroes quickly departed, but their hearts were heavy. Berserker was already a formidable enemy; with six Infinity Stones added to the mix, it was unimaginable just how powerful he would become.

Inside the workshop, Logan lit a cigar, but Rune stubbed it out with his hand.

"There are kids next door," Rune whispered a reminder.

"Hmph." Logan, with a sour face, put away his cigar. "What do you want?"

"I'm looking for Phantom Cat. I hope she can lead me to Magik," Rune said.

Logan frowned. "What do you need the secret agent for?"

Magik is Colossus's sister and a member of the X-Men. Her superpower is teleportation, but at the age of seven, she was captured by the demon Belasco and taken to a dimensional space called Limbo, where she was taught magic. She eventually defeated Belasco and became a dimensional sorcerer at Limbo. While she may not be as well-known as Wolverine or Magneto, her fighting prowess is certainly not inferior.

"Of course, it's to go to the Dark Dimension and bring back Clee and Doctor Strange, who might be there," Rune said, but Logan frowned.

"Phantom Cat can take you directly to the Dark Dimension, why bother looking for it—"

Rune interrupted the man. Perhaps Wolverine was good at physically defeating enemies, or perhaps he was good at leading a team to complete missions, but when it came to magic, his words were somewhat laughable.

"You're sending someone who knows absolutely nothing about magic to the territory of Dormammu, one of the most powerful mystical entities in the universe?" Rune looked at Logan speechlessly. "If I remember correctly, given your relationship with Shadowcat, you wouldn't want to kill her, would you?"

"Fine, fine." Knowing he was in the wrong, Logan sighed. "Damn magic, I'd rather go and kill Thanos alone than deal with you cloaked, mysterious guys—"

Although Wolverine's words contained a misunderstanding of a certain profession, Rune did not condemn him.

Before leaving, Rune instructed Wanda to keep an eye on the workshop and told her where the food was before departing. Wanda, eager to spend more time with her son, readily agreed.

Soon, they found Phantom Cat at Xavier's Academy of Geniuses.

"So you finally remembered me?" Phantom Cat looked at Rune and Logan with a resentful expression. "I thought you two had forgotten about me."

"You didn't follow me back then, is that my fault?" Rune raised an eyebrow.

"Fine, I guess. My bad, but—" Phantom Cat grinned mischievously and reached out to Rune. "For the sake of taking you across dimensions—give me something, just give me a puppet like Logan's that can grow bigger at will."

"I thought you wanted something else, but it turns out you just wanted the puppet." Rune pulled out a normal, non-adult companion puppet in the shape of a cat from his pocket. "Here you go."

However, Phantom Cat shook her head: "That's not what I want. I want the loyal, beautiful, and agile creatures that Logan has."

“Very few people describe the Xenomorph like that.” Rune raised an eyebrow. “Even fewer people like it.”

Wolverine sighed, "She wanted a puppet from me before, but I think this thing is too much for a little girl—"

"A little rebellious?" Phantom Cat chewed its gum. "Come on, don't you think their streamlined bodies, muscular physiques, and strange crests are cool?"

Rune looked at Wolverine, while Logan irritably lit the cigar he had stubbed out earlier, and impatiently shook his hand: "Don't look at me, I didn't teach her any of this stuff. She's going through a rebellious phase, and I can't be bothered with her anymore."

"Okay, here you go." Rune put the kitten back, then took out an alien and tossed it over.

"That's more like it, hehe." Phantom Cat easily caught it and then examined it carefully. Even with today's technology, the exquisite detail of this little puppet is enough to make any figurine enthusiast spend thousands of dollars, not to mention that this puppet can change size at will.
