A little bit of testing, like boiling a frog in lukewarm water, will eventually make Sakura develop feelings for you.

At noon, you look at the lunch that Sakura has carefully prepared and listen to her rambling explanations of various nutritional knowledge, even though you probably don't listen to a lot of it.

Meanwhile, downstairs at the hospital.

Naruto Uzumaki looked up at the towering hospital building, his little face filled with distress.

He heard you're on the seventh floor of Konoha Hospital, and he wants to visit you.

But he was so pitiful; his blond hair was dirty, his clothes were covered in dust, and his thin body looked empty inside the large clothes.

Given his appearance, the staff wouldn't let him go up.

The seventh floor is a special ward for Konoha, with strict security; you can't go up without proper identification.

Although Naruto was a little troubled, his optimistic nature quickly cheered him up. "This is no problem for me!"

He clenched his fist, his blue eyes gleaming with an indomitable spirit.

He sneaked up behind the hospital and looked up at the straight white water pipes that stretched all the way to the seventh floor.

A daring idea formed in his mind: if he couldn't get in through the front door, he would climb through the window!

Without hesitation, Naruto used his hands and feet to climb the white water pipe, little by little. The pipe was slippery and difficult to climb, but he relied on his years of experience scaling and traversing the village.

With the agility honed through practice, he managed to stay steady.

"Come on! You'll see Nagi-chan soon!" Naruto secretly cheered himself on, imagining the surprised look on your face when you saw him.

Meanwhile, the Kurama inside him, seeing Naruto's foolish behavior, couldn't help but scold, "What's wrong with you now, you brat! You're willing to risk your life for that crazy woman?!"

It simply cannot understand the act of risking being smashed to pieces just to meet someone.

"You big fox, you don't understand!" Naruto retorted defiantly, continuing his climb. "This is the bond between Nagi and me!"

"Bonds?" Kurama scoffed, his voice full of mockery. "You've all barely seen them!"

Nine Lama really doesn't want to see you; the oppressive feeling from Prajna makes it feel suffocated.

Naruto ignored Kurama's complaints and focused on climbing upwards. Sure enough, hard work pays off, and after some effort, he finally reached the seventh floor.

He was panting heavily as he cautiously clung to the windowsill. Luckily, the window led directly to your hospital room!

Through the glass, he saw the scene in the ward. Sakura was sitting by the bed, pointing at the plate and saying something to you, while you listened quietly.

You seemed to sense something in the hospital room, frowning slightly as you turned your gaze to the window. "Is someone outside the window?"

"Huh?" Sakura looked over curiously.

What she saw almost made her scream. Naruto was clinging to the outside of the seventh-floor window like a gecko, trying to climb in.

"!!!" Not only Sakura, but you were also shocked by this scene. He actually climbed up the water pipe on the seventh floor.

Seeing that everyone was looking at him, Naruto was overjoyed. Forgetting that he was still in danger, he instinctively stretched out his hands and waved, wanting to greet them, "Nagi-chan! Sakura! It's me! Naruto!"

It was with that careless wave of his hand that, in front of Sakura and you, Naruto lost his balance and fell straight down from the seventh-floor window ledge.

"Naruto!" Sakura's eyes widened, and she screamed in terror, quickly opening the window to look down.

You quickly got up and walked to the window to look out.

Downstairs, Naruto lay on the ground, a large mouthful of blood seeping from beneath him. His face was deathly pale, and he remained motionless, clearly severely injured.

Fortunately, Kurama within him mobilized a massive amount of chakra at the critical moment, protecting his heart and vital organs; otherwise, Naruto would have died from the fall.

"You little brat, you're such a handful!" Kurama cursed as he channeled his chakra to maintain Naruto's vital signs, his fox fur practically bristling with rage.

Sakura and you exchanged a glance, both seeing lingering fear and shock in each other's eyes.

"I'll go find a doctor!" Sakura said immediately, turning around and running quickly out of the ward to find a doctor to save the person.

After an emergency rescue, Naruto also received a hospitalization gift package. He had multiple fractures and internal injuries all over his body and was wrapped up like a mummy before being carried into the ward.

Knowing Naruto's living conditions, you suggested that Naruto share a hospital room with you so that it would be easier to take care of him.

Then, a strange scene unfolded in the ward: you were sitting on a clean hospital bed, while Naruto, wrapped up like a mummy, lay on the bed next to you.

Seeing Naruto's miserable state, Sakura was both angry and heartbroken, and couldn't help but complain, "You idiot, that's outrageous! How could you let go of his hands on the seventh floor!"

Naruto was quite happy about this. Although his whole body ached and he grimaced at the slightest movement, seeing you made him forget all his pain!

Moreover, hospitals offer warm beds and caring people, something that home might not even provide as much warmth as a hospital room!

The Nine Lamas inside him were utterly speechless within the sealed space.

Looking at the silly, grinning blond kid outside, and then thinking about his parents, known as "Golden Flash" and "Red Pepper," it realized that Minato Namikaze and Kushina Uzumaki's son was completely hopeless.

Putting aside the hellish difficulty of competing with Madara Uchiha for someone, his brain is just ridiculously stupid; he'd risk his life just to see him once.

Kurama felt that he was incredibly unlucky to have been assigned such a Jinchūriki.

Sakura couldn't help but shudder when she saw Naruto still grinning foolishly even after being scolded.

She tugged at your sleeve with a hint of fear and whispered, "Nagi...could he have hurt his head?"

You can probably guess what Naruto is thinking. He's happy to be in the same room as you, and even thinks that being injured and hospitalized is a 'good thing'.

But you didn't explain, you just glanced at Naruto indifferently, because you also felt that Naruto's thought process was strange and couldn't be understood by common sense.

If it weren't for your sake, Sakura would have kicked Naruto out!

This guy not only snores loudly when he sleeps, but when he wakes up, he shouts as if he's afraid others won't know he's awake. He also keeps bothering you with questions, like asking if your wound hurts or if you want some water.

You need to rest! But with Naruto's arrival, the ward has turned into a bustling market, and Sakura feels that her responsibilities as her 'temporary guardian' are being severely challenged.

In comparison, you personally feel okay, not because you have a high tolerance, but because your mind is not on the ward at all.

Naruto's noise and Sakura's worries seem like they're seen through frosted glass, blurry and distant to you.

Itachi finally finished his work in the Anbu and returned home with a tired look on his face. Sasuke, who had been waiting for a long time, couldn't wait to carefully pack the ninja tools that Granny Cat had prepared for him and ran to Itachi with his eyes shining.

"Nii-san! I want to visit Nagi!" He held up his ninja tool pouch. "Her things are still with me; I can take them to her!"

Itachi had already taken off his Anbu uniform and changed into a casual kimono.

Looking at his younger brother's expectant eyes, and remembering that Sasuke had been feeling down lately because of Shisui, he couldn't bear to refuse. Besides, he had been planning to visit you anyway to check on your condition.

“Okay, let’s go together.” Itachi nodded gently.

The two brothers walked on their way to Konoha Hospital. The setting sun cast long shadows, and Itachi felt a pang of sadness as he looked at his younger brother, who had grown considerably taller.

The three of them met you together.

Back then, Shisui was still alive. He would smile gently, guide him and Sasuke in their training, and share the three-colored dumplings with them.

Chapter 278 Confession

Now that Brother Zhishui is dead.

This realization weighed heavily on Itachi's heart like a boulder. He clenched his fists, a resolute glint in his eyes.

He will definitely protect you, out of concern for Zhi Shui, and also out of his own selfishness, for the complex feelings that have quietly grown for you.

Sasuke, standing to the side, gripped his ninja tool pouch tightly, his small face serious.

He's unsure of your current situation. Zhishui's death must have been a huge blow to you. Are you feeling guilty and pained because of Zhishui's death? Are you becoming even more withdrawn?

The thought of you possibly being immersed in grief is unbearable. Right now, Sasuke hates Danzo terribly—that despicable old man! Not only has he targeted you time and time again, but this time he even killed Shisui!

"I will take revenge one day," Sasuke vowed silently, his eyes burning with fury.

He must become stronger, strong enough to protect those he cares about, strong enough to avenge this blood debt from Danzo!

When they arrived at the ward on the seventh floor, the atmosphere was quite lively. Sakura was angrily feeding Naruto, who was wrapped up like a mummy, dinner. Her movements were not gentle, and she was obviously still angry about his reckless behavior of falling down the stairs.

Meanwhile, you, on the other hand, seemed utterly bored, your gaze idly fixed on the mundane program playing on TV, your mind already wandering off somewhere else.

Just then, a gentle knock sounded on the ward door.

The three people in the ward instinctively looked towards the door.

When you see Itachi Uchiha standing at the door, your eyes flicker slightly, and you casually turn off the TV, instantly silencing the room.

Sasuke stepped into the ward first, his tall figure conveying a sense of urgency.

Itachi followed closely behind, his expression as calm and gentle as ever, but when his gaze fell upon you, there was a hint of concern that was not easily noticed.

Sasuke frowned instinctively when he saw the mummy on the hospital bed next to him, his tone clearly displeased, "What's he doing here?"

He was very surprised and annoyed that Naruto was in your hospital room.

When Sakura saw that Sasuke had also come, her heart skipped a beat, and she felt a little flustered.

She immediately put the lunchbox aside and stood up, as if to explain something, and hurriedly said, "Sasuke-kun! Naruto... Naruto fell down the stairs while visiting Nagi."

Upon hearing Sakura's explanation, Sasuke couldn't help but scoff, glancing at Naruto and bluntly commenting, "What an idiot."

Falling down a water pipe on the seventh floor—what else could it be but stupidity?

"Hey! What are you talking about!" Naruto retorted to Sasuke, but due to his injuries, he could only lie in bed and stare blankly.

But Sasuke has stopped paying attention to Naruto; his attention is now completely focused on you.

He walked straight to your side and handed you a ninja tool bag that looked rather heavy, saying in a casual tone, "These are ninja tools that Granny Cat prepared for you. Open them and take a look."

You took it and opened it as instructed.

Inside, various ancient-style ninja tools were neatly arranged. I took out a shuriken, which was in the typical style of the Warring States period. Its lines were sharp and its blade was as thin as a cicada's wing, making it extremely dangerous just by its appearance.

This weapon, brimming with murderous intent, unexpectedly complements your gloomy temperament perfectly, as if you were born to wield such a deadly weapon.

Itachi glanced at Naruto beside him, understanding the situation, and then, like Sasuke, ignored him. "What's important now is your condition."

You casually swung the shuriken, and a faint whistling sound could be heard, demonstrating its extreme sharpness. You are quite satisfied with these ninja tools.

"Thank you." You put the shuriken back into your ninja tool pouch and thanked Sasuke.

Sasuke awkwardly turned his face away, his ears turning slightly red, seemingly unaccustomed to being thanked so formally.

He cleared his throat, trying to change the subject, and said in a somewhat commanding tone, "Hey, you'd better recover well, and don't forget you still have to teach me swordsmanship."

Swordsmanship? Itachi looked at you with a puzzled expression.

How come he didn't know about this agreement between you and Sasuke? It seems that while he was busy with his ANBU mission, a lot happened between you and your brother that he was unaware of.

"Does Nagi-chan know swordsmanship? Take me with you!" Naruto suddenly spoke up, even being wrapped up like a mummy couldn't stop him from joining in the fun.

Sasuke immediately frowned, glaring at Naruto with displeasure. What was this blond-haired guy doing getting involved? This was his agreement with you!

Sakura knows you're amazing, and when she heard she could learn from you and become stronger, she immediately exclaimed, "I want to too!"

The initial excitement caused by Sasuke's arrival vanished immediately upon comparison with becoming stronger. For Sakura, who aspires to become a powerful medical ninja and protect her comrades, improving her strength is the only true path forward.

You don't seem to care. Teaching one person is the same as teaching three. You learn as much as you can, so it makes no difference to you, and it might even be... more interesting?

You agreed to Naruto and Sakura's request, your tone remaining flat, "Okay."

Sasuke looked at you in disbelief. How could you so easily agree to let others disturb your training? This should have been your time! The displeasure and grievance of having your territory invaded instantly welled up in his heart.

You quickly notice the tears welling up in Sasuke's eyes and his clearly accusing gaze. You haven't done anything wrong, so why does Sasuke always look at you with such resentment? Like a cat whose treat has been stolen.

Itachi remained silent, simply observing the interaction between you two.

Watching Sasuke's awkwardness, Naruto's boisterousness, Sakura's enthusiasm, and your calm detachment yet unconscious control over everything.

He'd rather see you feel better than talk to you. At least now, there's some life in the ward. Although it's noisy, it's helped to brighten up the gloom brought by Zhishui's death.

Itachi and Sasuke stayed in the ward until dark before leaving, and the ward became much quieter.

Sakura stretched and rubbed her slightly sore shoulders, muttering, "I didn't do anything, but I still feel so tired!"

This kind of exhaustion is more mental. Taking care of two patients at the same time, and also dealing with the Uchiha brothers who suddenly came to visit, is really mentally draining.

Because you're in good spirits and your complexion is better than before, Sakura won't be staying overnight.

She leaned close to you, her bright green eyes sparkling in the light. "What do you want to eat tomorrow? I'll go home and prepare it for you."

Sakura wanted to make you something nutritious and to your liking, but you didn't say anything, as if you were still thinking or simply didn't care.

Naruto, ever the chatterbox, started ordering with a booming voice, "I want the extra-large bowl of miso chashu ramen from Ichiraku Ramen! And two soft-boiled eggs! And..."

Sakura clenched her fists, her forehead creased with anger, and finally snapped at him, "You idiot! I was asking about Nagi!"

Watching the two of them bickering in their familiar way, you sighed helplessly, "Let's just do as he says."

You've never been particularly attached to food; if Naruto wants to eat it, just let him.
