Chapter 335 Wang Mazi Beats Up Tieguai Li in the Cafeteria

Wang Mazi was holding his lunchbox, looking for a quiet corner to eat. Just as he sat down, he caught a glimpse of Qin Huairu standing next to him out of the corner of his eye.

Just as he was about to raise his hand to greet her, he saw a thin young man sitting opposite Qin Huairu. Upon closer inspection, he realized it was Tieguai Li from the same workshop. The two were chatting and laughing together, and Wang Mazi instantly flew into a rage.

He stood up abruptly, strode up to Qin Huairu, and demanded sharply, "Huairu, how come you're having dinner with Tieguai Li?"

Qin Huairu was engrossed in her conversation with Li Lei and hadn't noticed anything happening around her when she suddenly heard Wang Mazi's voice, and her heart skipped a beat.

She turned her head and bumped into Wang Mazi's angry face. She quickly stood up and explained with a smile, "Brother Mazi, don't misunderstand. Comrade Li Lei and I just happened to run into each other and that's why we sat together."

When Li Lei heard this, his face immediately darkened. He stood up, frowned, stared at Wang Mazi, and said in a deep voice, "Wang Mazi, what business is it of yours if I'm having dinner with Comrade Qin Huairu? Get out of here and stop getting in my way."

Qin Huairu quietly tugged at Li Lei's sleeve under the table, her movement extremely discreet, and whispered, "Brother Lei, don't argue with him. I'll explain later."

Li Lei nodded slightly to Qin Huairu, a hint of impatience in his eyes, but his expression remained cold and hard.

This subtle interaction, however, did not escape Wang Mazi's notice. His anger flared even more fiercely, and he roared, "Iron-Crutch Li, I'll beat you to death, you son of a bitch!"

Before the roar had even faded, Wang Mazi rushed up to Li Lei. Before Li Lei could react, Wang Mazi's clenched fist slammed into Li Lei's face.

"Bang!"

"ah--!"

A muffled thud followed by a scream. Li Lei was punched to the ground, his lunchbox flying far away, spilling food all over the floor, with cornbread mixed with soup splashing everywhere.

Qin Huairu was stunned into silence by the sudden punch. Only when she saw Li Lei fall to the ground did she snap out of it and angrily scold Wang Mazi, "Brother Mazi, are you crazy? How could you hit someone?"

Wang Mazi suddenly attacked and injured people in public, which no one expected. The crisp sound of lunchboxes colliding and screams of pain were mixed together.

The nearby workers all looked in their direction, and even those carrying lunch boxes who were walking over subconsciously stopped and stared at them in astonishment. The whispers among themselves were barely audible, but they couldn't hide the surprise on everyone's faces.

Many people know Wang Mazi and Tieguai Li. Everyone knows that Wang Mazi is an honest and simple person, so how could he get so angry and beat someone in public?

Li Lei fell to the ground, spitting out a large, yellow, blood-stained tooth. His eyes were bloodshot, and veins bulged on his forehead. He pushed himself up abruptly and roared as he lunged at Wang Mazi: "Wang Mazi, you dare hit me? Today I'll kill you!"

"Brother Lei, don't do it!" Qin Huairu exclaimed, trying to stop him, but Li Lei had suffered a great loss and was consumed by rage, so he couldn't stop him.

He rushed towards Wang Mazi and threw a punch at his face. Wang Mazi was prepared and dodged the punch by tilting his head. He then raised his arm and grabbed Li Lei by the neck, pulling him backward with a sudden force, and Li Lei was instantly pushed to the ground.

But Li Lei was desperate. The moment he fell to the ground, he grabbed Wang Mazi's clothes tightly and pulled hard, causing Wang Mazi to fall to the ground as well.

The two immediately started fighting on the ground, which was covered in soup and rice. They punched and slapped each other while cursing, creating a chaotic scene.

"Stop! Stop it now!"

Qin Huairu shouted anxiously, but both of them were red-eyed and furious, and couldn't hear a word she said.

In the blink of an eye, both of them were beaten black and blue. Li Lei was pinned down by Wang Mazi and took even more punches. Blood was flowing from his mouth and nose, making him look even more disheveled.

Seeing the situation was getting out of hand, Qin Huairu rushed to Wang Mazi's side to pull him away, but Wang Mazi was a big, burly man, and she couldn't budge him with her strength. She hurriedly shouted to the surrounding workers, "Everyone, help me! Quickly pull them apart!"

The closest workers snapped out of their shock and rushed over, dropping their lunchboxes. Two of them worked together and with great effort managed to separate the two wrestling men, each holding one of them to prevent them from attacking again.

The commotion grew even louder, and almost all the workers in the canteen gathered around, forming layers upon layers, craning their necks to look inside. The whispers among themselves grew louder, and their eyes were filled with shock.

Qin Jingru was busy at the food serving window when she heard the commotion and became curious. She quickly put down her ladle and told the new aunt Wang next to her, "Aunt Wang, could you watch the food serving for me for a bit while I go see what's going on?"

After saying that, she ran out of the kitchen and headed towards the hall.

Upon arriving at the scene, Qin Jingru found it too crowded to squeeze in, so she simply stood on a stool to watch.

Li Lei covered his face, blood seeping from between his fingers, glared at Wang Mazi through gritted teeth, and roared, "Wang Mazi, you just wait! I'll remember this grudge. If you dare hit me, I'll never forgive you!"

Wang Mazi, his eyes red and neck stiff, roared, "Iron-Crutch Li, come at me if you dare! If I'm afraid of you, I'm not Wang!"

The two men, separated by their coworkers, were exchanging barbs, and it looked like another conflict was about to break out. Qin Huairu was getting annoyed watching this, and her gaze toward Wang Mazi showed obvious impatience.

"Hey, what exactly do you want? Why did you suddenly start hitting me?"

Hearing Qin Huairu's questioning tone, Wang Mazi's anger flared even more. He looked up at Qin Huairu and saw her glaring at him angrily. His heart sank.

Although he was an honest man, he was not a pushover. He had lent Qin Huairu a hundred yuan in total and had spent more than ten yuan paying for her meals. But in the last two days, he hadn't paid for her meals, and she had given him the cold shoulder. Instead, she was getting so close to Tieguai Li and flirting with him in public.
